Groundbreaking ceremony for the drinking water supply, sewage and storm drainage system complex of Fuzuli

On May 5, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation for the drinking water supply, sewage, and storm drainage system complex in Fuzuli city.

The project is designed to improve the drinking water supply for 50,000 people in Fuzuli city, considering its development prospects up to 2040. The project includes drilling 15 subartesian wells, constructing a 10.7-kilometer main water pipeline, building a wastewater treatment plant, establishing a water network with a total length of 103 kilometers and other works. In the first phase, a water reservoir with a capacity of 17,000 cubic meters will be constructed. This reservoir will supply drinking water to approximately 80 percent of the city’s population. In the second phase, another water reservoir with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters will be built to serve the remaining 20 percent of the population.
