On May 2, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended a groundbreaking ceremony for an administrative building to be built in the city of Aghdam. During the ceremony, President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation stone of the administrative building.
The building will consist of a basement and five floors, with a total construction area of approximately 24,500 square meters. The basement floor will include a car parking area, civil defense shelter, technical rooms, storage, kitchen, and an auditorium. The first floor will house the district statistical office, the district department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the regional department of the Food Safety Agency and State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control, the local department of Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the district cultural office, the DOST Employment Center, State Agricultural Development Center, Territorial Tax Department of the State Tax Service, meeting room and an archive.
The second floor will feature 7 meeting rooms, 8 open offices, a hall, and a secretariat. The third floor will accommodate the headquarters of the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and a banquet hall that can be divided into two parts. The fourth and fifth floors will include offices, meeting rooms, conference rooms, and other facilities. In front of the administrative building, construction of a parade square for events, a park covering an area of 17,500 square meters, and a city square is also planned.
