Groundbreaking Ceremony for Internal Road and Communication Network of the City of Aghdam

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the internal road and communication network of the city of Aghdam on October 4. President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation of the internal road and communication network of the city of Aghdam.

Informing the President and the First Lady of the work to be done, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories of the Karabakh Economic Region (except the Shusha district) Emin Huseynov reported that the 4-lane Barda-Aghdam highway connects with the intra-city road network of Aghdam. The total length of intra-city roads is 191.1 kilometers. In the initial stage, it is planned to build roads with a length of 121 kilometers. Intracity roads incorporate avenues of municipal significance of 1st category with a width of 55-60 meters and the 2nd category with a width of 40 meters, as well as streets and roads of municipal significance with a width of 34 meters and local significance with a width of 20-24 meters. The roads will be 2, 4, and 6-lane.
