Familiarization with the works carried out in the mulberry orchard in Dashbulag village
On September 15, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the 13-hectare mulberry orchard established in Dashbulag village of the Khojaly district.
A total of 130,000 saplings imported from the People’s Republic of China have been planted in the orchard, and a drip irrigation system has been installed. It is planned to produce 100 tons of mulberry leaves in 2026 and 500 tons by 2030. The projected cocoon production is estimated at 60 tons over the next five years, starting from next year. In October-November of this year, it is planned to implement a drip irrigation system on an additional 150 hectares of land and plant approximately 1.5 million mulberry seedlings, establish a mulberry garden based on the cluster model, build greenhouses in the vicinity, feed silkworms, produce wet cocoons, and carry out the product processing process. The project has created permanent employment for 25 people, while seasonal work will engage around 750 people.
