Familiarization with the reconstruction progress in Khojavend village
On February 25, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Arzu Aliyeva visited Khojavend village of the Khojavend district to review the ongoing reconstruction progress.
Khojavend village was liberated from occupation during the anti-terror operation conducted in September 2023. Of the 278 individual houses in the village, 128 were uninhabitable and 150 were partially habitable. Twenty of the partially habitable houses have already been renovated, with an additional 130 houses scheduled for repair. In February, 20 families, comprising 94 individuals, returned to Khojavend village. Between March and December, the return of another 130 families – 533 people, is planned.
A number of social projects have been implemented in the village. A 5-kilometer gas supply line has been laid, an existing 1,500-meter pipeline has been restored, an existing 2,100-meter 0.4 kV power line and 2 transformer substations have been repaired, internal village roads have been asphalted, and pedestrian paths have been constructed.
Following the inspection of the reconstruction progress, President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Arzu Aliyeva visited the home of Rizvan Ibrahimov, a resident who had returned to the village and spoke with the family members.
