Familiarization with the reconstruction progress in Khanoba village

On March 18, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva reviewed the ongoing restoration of individual houses and infrastructure in Khanoba village of the Khojavend district.

Khanoba village is located within the eponymous administrative territorial unit of the Khojavend district, 15 kilometers southwest of the district center. The village was liberated from occupation during the anti-terror operation conducted in September 2023. Of the 153 houses in the village, 21 are uninhabitable and 132 are partially habitable. Of the partially habitable houses, 26 are ready for occupancy. By the end of this year, another 106 houses are scheduled to be completed.

In March, at the initial stage, 25 families – 114 people, returned to the village. By October, the resettlement of another 107 families is planned. In total, since October last year, 441 families – 1,818 people, have returned to 6 settlements of the Khojavend district.

A number of measures have been implemented in Khanoba village to address the social issues. The existing 2 transformer stations, electricity and gas lines have been restored, while new electricity, gas, and fiber-optic lines have been laid, repair works have also been carried out on the subartesian well and the pumping station.

The Head of State and the First Lady visited the home of Beybala Gasimov, who had moved to the village, talked with the family members and then met with the villagers who had returned to Khanoba. President Ilham Aliyev lit the Novruz bonfire together with the residents of Khanoba village, spoke with them, and congratulated them on the holiday.
