Acquaintance with the works carried out on internal roads of Aghdam

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has reviewed the ongoing work on the internal roads of Aghdam city.

According to the master plan of Aghdam city approved by the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, the total length of the city’s internal roads is 189.7 kilometers. The foundation for the city’s internal road and communication network was laid on October 4, 2022, with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.

The internal roads of Aghdam city are planned to be constructed according to six cross-sectional types. Depending on the importance of each type of cross section, the number of traffic lanes ranges from 2 to 8, greenbelt width is 1.5 to 3 meters, bicycle lane width is 1.5 meters, and pedestrian lane width is 4 to 6 meters. In the first phase, a 58.7-kilometer section of these roads has received a positive expert opinion. The length of the main city roads is 17.5 kilometers. These roads, with a width of 55 to 60 meters, will consist of 6 to 8 traffic lanes. The length of city-wide roads will be 50 kilometers, and the total length of local roads will be 122.2 kilometers. According to the First State Program on Great Return, the construction of internal roads in Aghdam city is expected to be completed by 2026.
