President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, during their visit to the Fuzuli district on June 14, got acquainted with the work done at Ashaghi Kondalanchay water reservoir.
The water source with a total capacity of 9.5 million cubic meters enabled the irrigation of 62,000 hectares of land. However, after the Armenian invaders’ occupation of the Fizuli district in 1993, the operation of the reservoir by Azerbaijan became impossible. Armenians, who committed ecological terror in our lands during the occupation, cut off water in seasons when there was a severe need for it in farm work but released the water during floods or when it was not needed, which created serious problems.
President Ilham Aliyev: As a result of the Patriotic War, we now control both the Sugovushan and the Kondalanchay reservoirs. Relevant instructions have already been issued for the future operation of these reservoirs.
