Acquaintance with the Restoration and Reconstruction Works to be Carried out at the “Istisu” Sanatorium

During their visit to Kalbajar and Lachin districts on August 16, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva viewed the restoration and reconstruction works to be done at the “Istisu” sanatorium.

A sanatorium of the same name was built around the famous mineral spring “Istisu” in the village of Istisu in 1928. Kalbajar district is known worldwide for its Istisu mineral resources and the sanatorium. According to sources, Istisu mineral springs appeared as a result of a strong earthquake in 1138. Due to its chemical composition and other properties, the Istisu water has no analogs in the world. The water temperature here is 58.8 degrees. The water temperature can reach 74 degrees on the surface and 90 degrees at depth. Istisu mineral springs consist of 12 springs.
