Acquaintance with the progress of the construction works carried out at Sarigishlag hydroelectric power station

On May 4, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the progress of construction works at the Sarigishlag hydroelectric power station operated by AzerEnergy OJSC in the Zangilan district.

The power station, which is located on the Okchuchay, which is the left branch of the Aras river, has an installed capacity of 10.5 megawatts. The annual electricity production target at the hydroelectric station is 26.7 million kWh. The construction of the new station building and fencing along the perimeter have been completed. Installation activities are underway for machinery halls, aggregates, generators, control panels, protective relay, automation, and installation of distance control computers in control panels. Additionally, work continues on laying the derivation pipeline intended to transfer water from the Shayifli small hydroelectric station to the Sarigishlag hydroelectric station. The distance between the water intake of the derivation-type hydroelectric station and the station itself is 5239 meters. Efforts are ongoing to transfer water from the turbines of the Sarigishlag hydroelectric station to the Zangilan small hydroelectric station without any loss. In line with the green energy zone concept, the Sarigishlag hydroelectric station is projected to produce 33.2 million kWh of electricity annually, which will be ecologically clean energy.
