On August 23, during their visit to the city of Shusha, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and his wife Ziroatchon Mirziyoyeva became acquainted with the House-Museum of Bulbul.
Polad Bulbuloghlu, who provided information to the distinguished guest and his wife, stated that on the instructions of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Executive Committee of the former Shusha City People’s Deputies Council decided on August 31, 1982, to convert the house where Bulbul was born and lived into a museum. The building was repaired in 1982-1983, a museum exhibition was set up, and an administrative building was constructed in front of it. The house-museum ceased operations in 1992 after being subjected to Armenian vandalism during the First Karabakh War. After Shusha was liberated from occupation, restoration work was carried out at Bulbul’s house-museum, and it was reopened on August 29, 2021.
