Acquaintance with the construction of the Barda–Aghdam railway line

On May 2, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the construction of the Barda–Aghdam railway line. According to the information, the construction of the railway line is planned to be completed by 2023. The railway line, which is single-track and unelectrified, has a length of 47.1 kilometers (including the side tracks it totals 57 kilometers). Barda, Kocherli, Tezekend and Aghdam stations will operate along the road. Three bridges will be constructed along the railway line.

The design works of the railway line have been completed by 90 percent, and the foundation of the Aghdam station has been laid. Additionally, the design includes the construction of three platforms in Barda and Aghdam, additional roads for these platforms, and two railway switches. Rails have been installed on a 32.8-kilometer section of the railway line. Earthworks, construction of engineering facilities, installation of road superstructure elements, and switches have been completed in the first phase. Currently, the installation of superstructure elements in the area between the 45th and 47th kilometers and the earthworks on the 6th road of Aghdam station are being continued. Construction and installation works are being carried out in two phases. 80% of the works on the Barda–Tezekend section of the line have been completed. In the second phase covering the Tezekend–Aghdam direction, the implementation status is 71 percent.
