Opening ceremony of the Aghdam Railway and Bus Terminal Complex

On May 10, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of the Aghdam Railway and Bus Terminal Complex.

This strategic infrastructure project, serving the development of Aghdam in line with its modern city status, had its foundation laid on October 4, 2022, with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.

The railway station will accommodate daily transportation of 800 to 1,000 passengers. The bus terminal will serve 1,300 to 1,500 passengers daily. The complex will function as an integrated transport hub. Covering an area of nearly 8 hectares, the facility includes all necessary rooms, waiting halls, ticket offices, a library, shops, entertainment zones, restaurants, and rest areas. Passengers have easy access to both the train platform and bus stops.

Within the complex, service buildings for various types of transport vehicles and passenger platforms have been constructed. The area also features surface parking lots for private, medium, and large vehicles; platforms for intercity and local buses; bicycle stands; parks; and electric vehicle charging stations.

The first symbolic passenger train on the Barda–Aghdam railway line was dispatched from the station.
