Groundbreaking ceremony for Imarat Stadium

On September 19, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation for Imarat Stadium in the city of Aghdam.

A 19.2-hectare plot of land has been allocated for the construction of the stadium, in accordance with the First State Program on the Great Return to the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Imarat Stadium is planned to be built in accordance with UEFA’s 4th category standards. The stadium, which has a capacity of 11,700 spectators, will have a natural grass field.

The stadium will have VVIP and VIP lounges, a conference hall, meeting rooms, referee rooms, dressing rooms for teams, media rooms, a museum, commentator booths, and other administrative and auxiliary areas, in accordance with UEFA requirements. An additional training ground, running track, parking lots, security checkpoints, technical buildings and facilities will be built on the territory of the stadium. The stadium will be equipped with modern monitors, surveillance, entry-exit, sound, lighting, and other communication systems.
