Signing of the Karabakh Declaration
On July 6, the Karabakh Declaration of the Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States was signed in Shusha. The meeting, held at the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, was attended by the leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, Hungary, and other Turkic states.
The Karabakh Declaration, signed at the meeting themed “Building a Sustainable Future through Transport, Connectivity, and Climate Action”, supports the development of regional and global cooperation based on the shared ethnic, historical, cultural, and value-based ties of Turkic peoples.
The declaration calls for cooperation to implement joint strategies and actions in key areas such as the development of transport infrastructure, energy systems, digital technologies, and combating climate change. This declaration is regarded as a new phase in strengthening political and economic relations among Turkic states.
The Karabakh Declaration was drafted in Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Turkish, and Uzbek languages. The document was signed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and Vice President of Türkiye Cevdet Yılmaz.
