Acquaintance with the work carried out on the Ahmadbayli–Fuzuli–Shusha highway and opening of the first tunnel

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the ongoing construction work on the Ahmadbayli–Fuzuli–Shusha highway.

As part of the reconstruction project of the liberated areas, the construction of the Ahmadbayli–Fuzuli–Shusha highway is progressing rapidly. The existing road is 101 kilometers long, while the new road will be 81.7 kilometers. The new road will be 19.3 kilometers shorter. The new road with a first technical category will feature 4-6 lanes. The construction involves 194 culverts of varying diameters, 38 underground passages, 11 bridges, 7 tunnels, and 9 viaducts. The total length of the bridges is 1557 meters, the viaducts is 1965 meters, and the tunnels have a total length of approximately 6450 meters in one direction.

The head of state also inaugurated the first tunnel, which has a total length of 6747 meters, built along the highway.
