Acquaintance with the Natavan Spring

On March 12, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Natavan Spring in the city of Shusha.

The “Khan gizi” (Khan’s daughter) Spring, which was reopened shortly after Shusha was liberated, is one of the city’s renowned landmarks. Khurshidbanu Natavan was known not only as a poet but also for her philanthropy. The water conduit she once constructed for the city was famously known as the “Khan gizi” Spring. During the occupation, the spring’s water had dried up, but it has now been restored for use by the city’s residents and visitors.
