Acquaintance with the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque

On August 23, during their visit to the city of Shusha, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and his wife Ziroatchon Mirziyoyeva got acquainted with the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque.

During the visit, it was noted that the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque is listed among the country’s significant historical and cultural monuments. While the city of Shusha was under occupation, this mosque was destroyed by Armenians. After restoration work that began at the end of 2021, the mosque was reopened in May of this year.
