Bilateral meeting

On May 25, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

During the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to President Vladimir Putin for the invitation to the Eurasian Economic Union summit and thanked the Russian head of state for the high regard shown for the memory of Heydar Aliyev and for Russia’s efforts in normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Emphasizing that he highly values these efforts by Russia, President Ilham Aliyev highlighted recent statements by the Armenian leadership recognizing Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan, as well as acknowledging the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan with specific figures, he noted that, following these acknowledgments, it would be easier to agree on the other provisions of the peace agreement.
