Opening of the Saatli Mosque

On May 10, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and family members participated in the opening ceremony of the Saatli Mosque in Shusha, following restoration work carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Restoration work on the mosque began in December 2021 by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The interventions made during the occupation were removed, and the walls were reinforced. Additionally, the damaged front column was strengthened, and the mosque’s floor was restored. Through analyses, the original colors of the patterns on the minaret were determined and restored accordingly, all the intricate details of the ornaments were preserved.
