Visiting Mir Mohsun Navvab Garabaghi’s grave in Jidir Duzu

On May 9, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the grave of the renowned 19th-century Azerbaijani poet, painter, calligrapher, music theorist, and encyclopedist scholar who had a unique role in the development of the literary environment of Karabakh, Mir Mohsun Navvab Garabaghi at Jidir Duzu in Shusha, which has been restored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and  laid flowers at the grave.

During the occupation of Shusha, the grave of Mir Mohsun Navvab Garabaghi located at Jidir Duzu was completely destroyed by Armenians. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation started restoration work in the area in March of this year, and the gravestone has been restored. This year marks the 190th anniversary of the birth of this distinguished scholar. The restoration work carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is a tribute to the memory of the scholar and poet, as well as another contribution to the preservation of our cultural heritage.
