On May 8, during their visit to Shusha, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva inspected the ongoing work on the 66–81 km section of the Ahmadbayli–Fuzuli–Shusha highway.
Starting from the M6 Hajigabul–Horadiz–Aghband–Zangazur corridor highway, the 81.7-kilometer Ahmadbayli–Fuzuli–Shusha highway connecting the liberated districts of Fuzuli, Khojavend, Khojaly, and Shusha is progressing rapidly according to international highway standards. Work on the 66-81 km section of the highway is 85% complete. In this section, which is 15.72 kilometers long, the width of the road is 10.75 meters and the width of the roadbed of 21.5 meters. The Ahmadbayli–Fuzuli–Shusha highway is being built according to technical grade 1b with four traffic lanes.
According to the project, major construction on 5 viaducts, 6 tunnels, and one bridge in this section has been completed. Final finishing works are currently underway on both the viaducts and tunnels. To ensure water passage in this section, 15 circular culverts of various sizes, 24 rectangular water crossings, 4 underpasses, and several reserve passages have been constructed.
