Acquaintance with works carried out at the Ashaghi Kondalanchay reservoir

On June 14, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Ashaghi Kondalanchay reservoir in the Fuzuli district to review the carried out works.

With a total capacity of 9.5 million cubic meters, this water source once provided irrigation for 62,000 hectares of land. After the occupation of Fuzuli district by Armenian forces in 1993, the operation of the reservoir by Azerbaijan became impossible. During the occupation, the Armenian side carried out ecological terror in the occupied territories, blocking water flow during agricultural seasons when it was most needed, and releasing it during floods or periods of low demand, thereby causing severe damage.
