President Ilham Aliyev attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Aghdam Industry Park and laid the groundwork for the park on May 28.
The industrial park will be divided into the food industry, small industries and services, large industrial enterprises, social and technical zones, a fleet of trucks, and a base for the sale of building materials. There are plans to establish enterprises for the production of building materials, packaging of agricultural products, canned vegetables and fruit, meat and dairy products, production and processing of wine, feed, and fertilizers, as well as office space and refrigerators.
There are plans to create four regional centers while considering the potential of the liberated territories. An industrial center will be built in Aghdam, a logistics and trade center in Jabrayil, a culture and tourism center in Shusha, and a mining and tourism center in Kalbajar. The Industrial Park will include around 33 small manufacturing and service businesses and large industrial and food enterprises. About $110 million will be invested in the project, and 330 new jobs will be created. The strategic geographical position of Aghdam, its location at the junction with other regions, its human resource potential, and access to infrastructure expand the city’s chances of becoming an industrial center of Karabakh in the future.
