Groundbreaking ceremony for the Barda–Aghdam highway

On May 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Barda–Aghdam highway and laid the foundation for the new road.

The Barda–Aghdam highway project is part of the large-scale reconstruction works being carried out in the liberated territories under the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, aimed at rebuilding the region’s transport infrastructure. The length of the road, 14 kilometers of which will pass through the city of Barda and several settlements, will be 44.5 kilometers.

The highway will have four lanes in accordance with the Karabakh development plan and will cover more than 20 settlements in these districts, including the cities of Barda and Aghdam.
