Visit to the palace of Khurshidbanu Natavan in Shusha

On May 12, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughters Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva visited the area in front of the palace of Khurshidbanu Natavan in the city of Shusha.

During the period of occupation, the residence of Khurshidbanu Natavan in Shusha was destroyed. The Shusha Music School, the first children’s music school established in Azerbaijan, had once operated in Natavan’s residence. This 18th-century historical and architectural monument became a victim of Armenian vandalism and destruction.

The assessment of the damage inflicted on the building during the occupation has already begun. Following this process, restoration work on the palace will commence.
