Opening ceremony of the Gulabird Hydroelectric Power Plant

On February 14, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of the Gulabird Hydroelectric Power Plant, located on the Hakari River, with a capacity of 8 megawatts, and launched its operation.

The commissioning of the Gulabird Hydroelectric Power Plant is a historic and remarkable event. This is the first infrastructure project put into operation in the liberated territories with President Ilham Aliyev’s participation. The station will play a significant role in supplying electricity to approximately 7,000 people, the electricity generated here will provide power to Khanlyg village in the Gubadli district, the southern part of the Lachin district, and other infrastructure projects located in the area.

During the occupation, Armenian invaders, as in other places, completely destroyed this power station in line with their destructive nature. This station, which was put into operation in a short period of time on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, is of great importance in terms of creating infrastructure in the liberated territories and implementing other planned projects.
