Familiarization with the reconstruction progress in Khanabad village
On February 25, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Arzu Aliyeva reviewed the ongoing reconstruction progress in Khanabad village of the Khojaly district.
Khanabad village, located in the eponymous administrative territorial district of Khojaly, was liberated from occupation during the anti-terror operation conducted in September 2023. The village has a total of 276 houses, of which 115 are uninhabitable and 161 are partially habitable. To date, 120 houses have been renovated. By the end of this year, an additional 41 houses are expected to be ready for use. In February, 38 families – 154 people, returned to the village.
A number of social projects have been implemented in Khanabad. Three existing transformer stations, electricity and gas lines have been restored, new electricity, gas, and fiber-optic lines have been laid, repair works have been carried out on subartesian wells and the water reservoir, additionally construction of two new water reservoirs has begun. A pumping station has been built in the territory of Asgaran settlement to supply water to the village, and internal village roads have been restored. “Khanabad” composition has been installed at the entrance to the village, a park has been laid along the shore of Khanabad Lake, an overpass has been constructed, and the State Flag has been raised.
Following the inspection of the reconstruction progress, President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Arzu Aliyeva visited the home of Amrah Sahibov, who had moved to the village, and spoke with the family members.
