Meeting with residents in Ashaghi Oratagh village

On January 13, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with residents of the villages of Ashaghi Oratagh, Childiran, Heyvali, and Chapar in Ashaghi Oratagh village, Aghdara district. 

During the meeting, the Head of State noted that in recent days residents have been resettled in four villages of the Aghdara district, and that overall, the return of former internally displaced persons to nine villages of the district has been ensured. Stressing that monitoring has been conducted in the liberated areas over the past 2 years and that restoration has been carried out in stages, President Ilham Aliyev noted that houses have been repaired and infrastructure has been created in the villages.

President Ilham Aliyev stated that since 2023 life in the region has been rapidly restored, that 73,000 people are already living and working in the liberated territories, and that electricity, water, and gas supply systems have been established, roads have been constructed, and industrial and agricultural projects are being implemented. It was highlighted that a hydroelectric power station has been commissioned in Gozlukorpu village, and that nearly 1,000 jobs will be created at the Damirli Ore Processing Complex. The Head of State also noted that a new Master Plan will be prepared for the city of Aghdara and that the city will be developed as an industrial and tourism center.

The residents expressed their gratitude to the Head of State, thanking him for enabling their return to their native lands.
