17th ECO Summit

On July 4, the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) was held in the city of Khankendi.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev welcomed the participants, officially opened the summit, and delivered a speech at the landmark meeting. He spoke about the extensive reconstruction work in the region following the liberation of Karabakh, the Azerbaijani people’s struggle for territorial integrity, and the implementation of the “Great Return” program.

Leaders and representatives of the ECO member states also took the floor, praising Azerbaijan’s hosting of the summit and the high-level organization of the event in Khankendi. Key topics of discussion included the declaration of Shusha as the ECO Tourism Capital for 2026, new initiatives in the field of clean energy, and the development of regional cooperation.
